Born in Newark, NJ, and raised in the vibrant city of Charlottesville, Jay finds her greatest joy in family—especially in her role as "Auntie Mommy" to her beloved nieces and nephews. A true foodie at heart, she loves discovering new restaurants and indulging in all things creative, from DIY projects to fashion and home design.

With over half a decade of experience in the financial industry, Jay knows that experience and exposure don’t just shape us—they empower us, challenge us, and inspire us to dream bigger. Through Mahogany and Friends, she is dedicated to equipping the next generation with the knowledge and confidence to build a brighter financial future.

At just seven years old, Jay lost her father, leaving her mother to navigate finances alone. Without the right knowledge or guidance, their family home and stability slipped away. That experience shaped Jay’s passion for financial literacy, showing her the power of education in securing a brighter future.

Determined to break the cycle, she became a trusted financial resource for loved ones and saw the need for fun, accessible financial education for children. That vision led to Mahogany and Friends—a brand dedicated to amplifying diverse voices, sparking meaningful financial conversations, and empowering families to build generational wealth.
